Did you know last October I had 11 blog entries? That is almost the same amount as my entries from 2009. When I think back when I first started blogging, Junior year of college 2003/2004, I would usually post once a week. It was just easier to get posts in, especially when I was in Scotland because it really was my way of communicating with friends back home. Now it is just more effort, plus I really don't think I am as interesting anymore. Spending the majority of everyday in a cube isn't so conductive to having interesting stories.
Well enough of past reflection, what's on my agenda for this weekend? Finishing up my Computer Security term paper on Security Certifications, working on some posts for classes, and making apple pie shots. John made some of these last year, and they tasted awesome, and the recipe is a snap. Pretty much goes like this:
1 gallon Apple Cider
1/2 gallon Apple Juice
10 cinnamon sticks
1 bottle everclear
Boil the cider, juice and cinnamon sticks together for 10 mintues, let cool, add everclear.
So not labor intensive (unlike the skittle vodka incident) but very tasty.
The shots are for the Great Pumpkin Fest that we are putting on at M&R's place on Saturday, there will be pumpkins, carving and apple pie shots. Fun should be had by all. Can't wait till Halloween when KP, Trix and everyone will get to hit the town! I am so excited about getting to dress up again, and I am dork but I have been testing out different makeup already to go with my gypsy outfit!
New resolutions, who needs to wait till January 1st?
1. I will stop turning in my class assignments the day they are do, well more likely a few minutes before they are do.
I always get stressed writing the papers, and then I am hyped on "must finish now!" adrenaline and then I am up until 1am or 2am. Not good for my health or my school work. I need to start doing my classwork and papers further in advance to help with my stress, as well as help improve the quality of my papers.
2. Stop checking my email every 5 minutes, this includes both work and personal.
I am a compulsive email checker. I hit refresh multiple times, and then jump on a new email, even if I am doing something else at the time. Not good for productivity and then I am always of this mindset that I must reply or take action with the email even though I do have other items that might be more important.
At least I have pretty much kept up my promise to not open twitter before noon, but I need some new goals to get better on track. Lately I have been feeling some ennui with work, and school, maybe it is a seasonal thing?
Oh ya, I went there with the vocab.

Trying to keep up with the boys...
It just doesn't work trying to drink with all guys. As hard as you try, it just really doesn't work trying to keep up with them. I have done this with work friends (which are mostly all guys) and then with just friends, and I never turn out that good. But I always think I can do better the next time.
The concert last week went well. Work is going fine, still trying to recover from my machine needing to be totally wiped, and it just takes time to get it back to the way you had it. Need to take the BF to the airport on Saturday, but I think we are going to try to catch Zombieland tomorrow.

Life has taken over my life...
Sorry guys, I just have been in kind of a rut. Work, classes, dinner with the BF and then repeat. Yes I know it is fall, and damn it has hit hard. We are actually supposed to get some snow here soon. Talk about a short fall. Hey is there a word for a short fall, kinda like an Indian summer?
Work is going all right. Nebraska is being hit by the recession now, kinda like fashion, we always a little bit behind. My group is still very small, so it makes for a lot of work on me, and sometimes it would be nice to have more people to spilt the load with.
Classes are about 1/2 through now, going into my sixth week. It is really interesting taking Cyber Ethics and Computer Security at the same time. Some topics overlap, so it is nice to be able to reuse the knowledge I learn in one class for the other class. Also a time saver!
Just picked out my Halloween costume yesterday with Jeaniy and M. It is going to be an awesome gypsy getup complete with waist cincher. Still looking into getting something picked out for the bf, but we might have some sort of paired outfit going on.
Caved and bought some new clothes on AE.com. I know that haven't shopped their since college, but their clearance sale plus an extra web coupon made it a great deal, and I remember their clothes being fairly good quality. If they don't fit, at least I can return them to a local store, so not big deal. If they turn out to cute outfits I will post pics, but I am trying some skinny jeans so lets hope I got that size right!
Ok that's all for now, don't want to post too much that I don't have anything to say for another two months.

Is it summer?
I guess I still feel like I should get some sort of month (or preferable 3 month) break when summer comes, and it is that magical time where you don't have to do Jack. I know I have been in the "real" world for close to 4 years now, but I wonder it really kicks in that no you don't get a summer vacation anymore. You are lucky if you get a week, and that yes you do have to work like you do through the rest of the year.
That said, it really hasn't felt like summer because well the temperature hasn't been summer temps. When went on a float trip on the 4th of July it was about 65 degrees out. On the 4th?!?! I couldn't believe how cold it was. I am not one who likes the heat, but it is expected that when summer rolls around (especially July) it is going to be really hot and most of the time humid.
I have survived camping (real camping, I guess my families version of renting a cabin doesn't count as camping) twice now. For two days over the 4th for our Float trip, and then again recent for two days for John's Birthday. I have to say I am still not a fan of no air conditioning, getting bug bites, and peeing outdoors (or is porta potties) but there are a lot more fun parts then not fun parts. It is cool that you get to hang out with your friends for a longer amount of time then usual, I think cooking outdoors is pretty novel, and drinking beer by a camping fire frankly rocks. We totally put bacon on sticks and cooked it over the campfire and it was awesome. So I will probably be up for camping for future outings, but I make no promises about not whining about the heat.

I need to stop looking through my blog archives...
God this blog is old, did you know my first post was 7.08.2004? That is pretty much 5 years ago. That really is forever in Internet time. Just like I figured out the other week that I have been on Twitter since Aug 21st, 2007. I have to say, for as short as my attention span is, I do stick with some things! Also to note, my spelling and grammar as improved a lot since 2004, now I can't say the same thing about my handwriting.
Hot damn it's May already...
I have kinda been in a funk lately. My weeks have just fallen into a pattern these past ten weeks since I started up my 2 masters classes this semester. Definitely a lot more work then just the one I took last semester, and I think I am going to just take one class a semester for a while, till either my work load gets lighter or I get better at managing my time. Because frankly having to go home to work and school work right after you just got done with work, is a sad and depressing thing.
Modeled two more t-shirts for Neatorama, see below. Tried to take the pictures outside, and my BF was the photographer. It was kinda odd doing the pictures with him, definitely made me feel more self conscious but the scenery is better!
